Truss Example 1

There are a number of truss designs for different applications, but on these jobs, it's important to keep things as simple as possible.  This example is an efficient style, typically used for shorter roof spans, but also where time, volunteer labor or even budget are tight. It's a perfectly suitable truss, as you'll see in the "Trust Testing" picture later.  However, this style truss has to be handled with a little more care to avoid 'side bowing'.

Once the truss design is decided, we lay out the first one on top of 4x8 sheet 'base' as a template.  We mark an outline of the pieces on the 4x8 base, then label the original pattern pieces for 'production cutting' later.
