Hormiguero 2008 - La Victoria ('The Farm')

This is where the US and Juarez Crews stayed at night during this project.  This is Josue's second home, which (I believe) once belonged to a beloved uncle, and where Josue spent much time in his youth.  I'm not sure of all the details, but I do know Josue loves his time down here when there's time to visit.  The quiet country atmosphere and being close to old friends, many relatives and the pastor's association all contribute to that enjoyment.  It also happens to be a real working farm, producing cotton, which is a big product in this area.  There are several different people that help work the farm and take care of the home when Josue is in Juarez, and they consider it an honor to help out, knowing what Josue brings to the community.

As I mentioned earlier - staying here and sharing the evening meal here was a true bonding experience with these great guys.  I had previously been on a mission trip out west that simply didn't have the same direct camaraderie.  That component as well as the nature of the tasks on this trip were world's apart.  Please don't get me wrong - no single function from foundation to roof peak is better or more important than another.  There are just niches that people fit into, and this one was clearly the one for me.
