Atalaya 2019 - Shingle Mania!

Sometime early in 2019, I was introduced to a friend of a friend from the Chicago area, who's name is Manny Anaya.  Manny owns and operates a construction company called Elevate Construction, Inc., and was very interested in hearing about these South Projects. By the end of the night, he asked if I needed shingles, to which I replied, "YES! ABSOLUTELY!"  He went on to say he had a connection in the shingle industry, and to get in touch next time I was going to do another project.

To make a really long story short, not only did his contact at Owens-Corning, Erin Gnutek, get us enough shingles for this project, she got us AN ENTIRE TRUCKLOAD! Obviously this was a huge help, for this and future projects, but admittedly, I had no idea how to proceed, because I was required to manage the transport!  With some great advice and direction from friends, I ended up with a crash course in trucking logistics, mostly credited to Katie Oldenburg and Nicole Davis from the trucking logistics company New Way Services, from my home area of Minneapolis/St. Paul, MM.  Last, but certainly not least, another friend of a friend in El Paso, Oscar Sandoval - owner of Oasis Roofing.  Oscar volunteered to unload this truck and store the extra shingles for us, which was a huge undertaking since we received 17 pallets!
